Shimonishi Giken Kogyo (SIMOTEC) Group has established itself as a leading manufacturer of structural and composite parts
First established in the early 90s, SIMOTEC boasts customers from a wide range of industries including precision equipment, telecommunication equipment and factory automation. Using mechatronics, magnetism and thermals, the group creates new technologies based on analytical simulations by expert engineers.
Meanwhile, a shift is taking place in Japanese manufacturing, with effective communication and marketing gradually becoming as important as innovation itself.
Accordingly, the firm, according to President Takashi Shimonishi, is currently focused on “marketing and understanding customer needs” and aims to “deliver solutions with increased complexity and higher value, ensuring a competitive edge that is difficult to replicate.”
Mr. Shimonishi continues: “Our commitment to catering to evolving market demands is reflected in our product development efforts.”
One such product is the Switching Mag Holder, an energy-saving magnetic application product that can be switched on and off by instantaneous energization and maintains its absorption force even without energization.
The product’s simple, yet effective design allows for easy and reliable storage of various items without the need for external fasteners or adhesives. Moreover, by reducing electricity consumption, it enables SIMOTEC to achieve economic growth while reducing its impact on the environment; to contribute to addressing climate change and promote sustainable practices.
Looking to the future, and with existing bases in Southeast Asia, the group is aiming to enter the European market. While such a move may prove challenging initially, Mr. Shimonishi is adamant that it will pay off in the long run.
“Our focus,” he concludes, “is not solely on technology but also on enhancing values. While our sales increase, it’s essential for us to keep striving for excellence in our products.”
