Türk Telekom Group celebrated its 175th anniversary in April 2015 with a glitzy celebration in Ankara attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Guests were taken on a technological journey through time, as they were shown how communications have developed in Turkey over 175 years, from letters and telegrams to today’s 4G and tomorrow’s 5G technology. President Erdoğan expressed his gratitude to Türk Telekom Group for its contributions to the communication infrastructure and digital transformation of Turkey. Group CEO Rami Aslan described Türk Telekom as the “technological and innovative force that blazes new, bold trails in communications and technology including voice, broadband, fiber, IPTV, modern corporate solutions and now smart cities.” Indicating that Türk Telekom will have made investments over 22 billion TL in Turkey by the end 2015, Mr Aslan added: “Türk Telekom Group envisions a future with innovation in its core from homes to cars, hospitals, schools and even cities."
