Valle del Cauca: the booming centre of agriculture and industry in Colombia

Article - October 28, 2011
In terms of farming, Valle del Cauca is the most important and productive region in Colombia, producing sugar cane, cotton, soy and coffee.
Yet is also home to many top-class product manufacturing companies, most prominently  those in the paper and cement industries. Its geographical location is strategically valuable, as the region enjoys a direct link to the Pacific Ocean and beyond at Buenaventura, Colombia’s largest and busiest port.

The Buenaventura port, and the road connections with Cali are by far two assets Colombia should invest in urgently.
